Lunch Time - Tuna Melt

I don't have work until Saturday which means I have a lot more time to make nice lunches instead of rushing around with simple ham sandwiches. I'm so sure that almost everybody had heard of a tuna melt but if you haven't,then I made one. It's the bomb.

What I used was:
2 slices of brown seeded bread
Half a can of tuna in brine
A teaspoon of light mayonnaise
Half a Handful of Grated Mozzarella Cheese
3 Baby Tomatoes
 A Toastie Maker

Empty half a can of tuna into a jug or a mixing bowl and then add a teaspoon or more into it also. You can use what ever tuna and mayonnaise you want but I used Princes tuna and Hellmans mayonnaise.

Take 3 small tomatoes or half of a big one and cut them into tiny slices. You don't have to add them and I don't really like them all that much but they add a lot of flavour to it and they really go well with this meal.

Spread the tuna mixture onto one slice of bread. Then lay the tomatoes on top of that.Add the grated cheese last so that it melts better.I used mozzarella cheese because it melts much better than other cheeses and it's more stringy, like pizza.

Then just lay the second peice of bread on top and push everything down so that nothing falls out.Put down the lid of the toaster and wait for about 2 - 3 minutes. My toaster is slightly old and the buttons are falling off,so I probably need a new one but any is good really.

The obviously just take it out and cut it in half.It is best to spray the toaster first with some frying oil or spray butter so that it doesn't stick because it can do that sometimes. I would say that seeded bread is the bet but that's just my opinion because it's my all time favourite bread anyway. The seeds give it a nice crunch along with the toastiness of it and it goes really well with the tomatoes. It's also better for you as well.

This is a really great lunch or brunch meal that you can eat and it takes literally 15 minutes to make. It's so delicious and you can mix it up with the things that you add to it.Perfect for any day when you have a lot of time to spare.

Hope you enjoy,Le xox
